The founder of Floral Never land was Olivia Wang. In her school time she introduced her store on Etsy. She was interested in crafting and when she heard about Etsy she thought it as a perfect place for her as it emphasizes on hand crafts and handmade goods. She saw it as a great source to earn money so she joined it. She started uploading the pictures of her crafts. When she graduated from her university she realized that many of her skills can be best applied outside Etsy so she decided to create a brand outside Etsy. She wanted to grow her own community and tell her stories. It was a hard task for Olivia to tell her stories as a new member on ecommerce. She used her digital marketing skills to uplift. Inside a period of opening my Shopify store, I created a submitted Instagram following as per my picture sanity and elegant. I’m starting to get my picture voice heard,” says Olivia of her progression. To extend the importance of checking, she observes that the resistance on Etsy can be enraged, especially when distinctive merchants offer near stock. Building brand on Etsy is not an easy task especially when the customer’s bond is with Etsy not with your brand. For the basis of your business you need such customers who will be interested in your work. In an offer to remain aggressively evaluated with different dealers on Etsy, Olivia already depended on delivery items in plain air pocket mailers as letter mail so she could offer free dispatching. But it never conveyed the experience she needed for her clients. Olivia says she really believes that packaging is very important part of brands and she puts her love and spends a good time in packaging.
Owner of HaldeCraft Lorena Hardeman when stepped in the platform of buying and selling she started with a solid basis because of her previous experience. She with her two friends was working in a yarn shop but because of economic hit they closed it. After closing the yarn shop she started selling on Etsy. She stated that when she firstly started selling on Etsy everything was of her own. She was selling the soap made by her but her main focus was on the ceramics that was her hobby. While her business was on progress little things of Etsy were bothering Lorena. She was given specific products but she wanted additional products to organize her store. She was able to organize her store by making subcategories of her products and that was proved beneficial for both customers and the store. She wanted that her customers should not bother searching for the products they need so it helped them to exactly find what they needed.
At starting Lorena was confused with the opening of her own store. She was of the view that it will cost much but after wards she realized it as affordable. She use to keep open her both stores. When she stared her shopify at 2012 she removed almost all soaps and 75% of ceramics from Etsy and left that products only which were frequently sold on Etsy. She noticed that even with limited amount of products on Etsy she was able to gain new customers. The customers were searching for the things which she was no longer selling on Etsy. The story that goes with the handmade is the reason most of the people love shopping on Etsy. You should allow your customers to be part or your story by answering on instagram or social media. If people want to connect, connect with them as there is no harm.
When rose warden begin his business on Etsy, he had no idea and previous experience of marketing and selling. He came with the vision to provide a travel map to his wife but he could not find anything online that can fit his vision. Then he tried his own and made some. He also posted on Etsy for selling. This encouraged him and he felt he should continue working on it. He wanted to go beyond Etsy so he found a number of ecommerce platforms to work. He stated that he initially tried twice to open his own store but neither of them met the expectations they he had. When I heard of shopify I tried it and I found it interesting so I continued working there. The conquest maps were also available on multiple channels like they are sold on retail space, on Etsy, selling through shopify stores, and also on instagram. The majority of selling is coming through shopify said Ross. The maps that attract people toward its stores are to build relationship with the customers. Ross says that Etsy is a great place to start, to test and validate new products because they have already a lot of traffic to buy different products.
When you open a shopify store your customers are your customers. In reality things always change on ecommerce so take the opportunity you get advised by Ross. He also suggests that you should operate many channels. If the channel is earning enough money for your business stay working with it. If one channel gets a lose then you would have other two or three channels to regain the loss.
