In-Memory Computing: Let’s learn how to adapt to an increase in online traffic!
Welcome back to the eCommerce forum!
In-memory computing is the storage of data in a server’s RAM as a way to process at faster speeds. Moreover, in-memory computing can help online companies adapt to an increase in traffic. This is important because intensive loads can lead to database system failure. We have an amazing speaker for our upcoming eCommerce Meetup. He will teach us how in-memory computing can provide Internet scalability.
*Please note that we changed our location to one of the Jay Suites offices on 31 West 34th Street in New York. Additionally, this Meetup has been moved to Wednesday, October 29th, 2014 in honor of the Jewish holiday. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Here is a brief overview of what to expect:
Director of Solution Architecture, GigaSpaces
GigaSpaces is a leading provider of end-to-end scaling solutions for application environments and cloud-enabling technologies. They are the only platform that offers silo-free architecture. Furthermore, GigaSpaces XAP in-memory compute product helps enhance leading eCommerce systems’ performance. Most importantly, this product delivers low-latency response time on massive peak load. As the holiday season draws near, GigaSpaces’ can help online companies prepare for heavy traffic.
Ali Hodroj is Director of Solution Architecture at GigaSpaces. He works on cloud computing, in-memory computing and scalabilty. Before GigaSpaces, Ali worked in biomedical informatics. While in this field, he gained experience with big data, distributed computing and JEE technologies.
The Meetup Structure:
6:00 p.m. – Short Networking
6:30 p.m. – Minute intro from our members
6:45 p.m. – Ali will be speaking about in-memory computing as well as his experience at GigaSpaces with a Q&A
