  1. Charlie O’Donnell, Partner and Founder at Brooklyn Bridge Ventures

Charlie O’Donnell is the sole Partner and Founder at Brooklyn Bridge Ventures.  The fund makes seed and pre-seed investments and was the first venture firm located in Brooklyn–where he was born and raised.  Brooklyn Bridge invested in the first rounds of Canary, The Wing, Orchard Platform, Tinybop, Hungryroot, Clubhouse, Ringly, and goTenna among others.  Working in venture capital since 2001, he apprenticed his way through the asset class with analyst roles on the original Union Square Ventures team as well as at the General Motors pension fund–a long time limited partner in many top tier funds.  At First Round Capital, he sourced the firm’s investments in Singleplatform (sold to Constant Contact) and GroupMe (sold to Skype).  Charlie discovered GroupMe at the Techcrunchhackathon where the service had been built.  He also sourced investments in Backupify (which was an idea he had tweeted to the founder, a friend of his), chloe + isabel, and Refinery29.

Charlie bikes to work, has done seven triathlons, four marathons, and runs the kayaking program in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The longest he has consecutively been outside of the five boroughs of New York City is three weeks. 

 

 

 

  1. Sumeet Shah, VC in Residence at Galvanize & Chief Strategy Officer, News Picks USA 

    Sumeet is the Chief Strategy Officer at the US division of News Picks USA, a refined news experience where content is picked by experts and thought-leaders. The platform was designed to bring users the most important stories with commentary from trusted experts across the world. He also assists in sourcing and managing new opportunities as the VC in Residence at the New York City campus of Galvanize, an 8-campus strong community making education and growth accessible to anyone – especially underrepresented groups in the tech industry.

    Prior to Galvanize, Sumeet handled sourcing and new investments as a Principal at Brand Foundry Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm focused on low-tech and high-tech consumer products and devices. Overall, he has over 9 years of experience across the startup and private equity industries, formerly running new business strategies at Gist Digital and handling business development and project work at Gotham Consulting Partners. He also assisted in the creation of XRC Labs, a consumer and retail accelerator run by Kurt Salmon and Parsons, as the Program Manager for their inaugural class and Head of Strategic Partnerships for their second class.

    Sumeet graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Engineering, where he specialized in Biomechanics

Jackie holds an MBA from Santa Clara University; a BA in PoliticalEconomics from the University of California, and a Certificate inInternational Economics and Public Policy from Harvard University.She has served on the Board of Advisors for Slicebooks. In addition,Jackie was an Adjunct Professor of Business Communications andInternational Management at EDHEC Risk Institute in Nice, France andFordham University, New York. 

 

  1. David Segura – Entrepreneur and Angel Investor 

David Segura is an accomplished Entrepreneur and Angel Investor with experience in a number of industries including AdTech, Marketplaces, and eCommerce among others.  

David previously served as the Founder & CEO of Giant Media, a pioneering Native Video Advertising platform that included Toyota, Johnson & Johnson, American Express, and Dollar Shave Club as clients. Giant Media was successfully acquired in 2014 by Adknowledge, an AdTech company backed by TPG, JMI, and Nokia. Prior to Giant Media, he worked at Comedy.com, Twistbox Entertainment, and Towers Watson. 

David is also an active Angel Investor in numerous startups including Roomi, Laurel & Wolf, Mogul, Peer5, Showroom, and many others. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and currently resides in New York.
